Do you know how to tell a “good MLM” from a “bad MLM”? Well, if not, I’m here to help you! Each MLM company has 4 pillars; timing, product, compensation plan and mentorship. 

Before I dive into the 4 pillars let’s discuss the company. LifeVantage (LV) is a “newer” MLM company, after a few name changes it was officially named LV in 2009. Our products are patented and unlike any other, meaning we have little competition. 

Now! The 4 pillars! The first one is timing. All MLM companies go through the same type of growth curve. The key with timing is to get in before Critical Mass Growth (CMG). But how do we know when that is? Well, before CMG there’s something called “ground floor” and this is considered to be reached when there are 150,000 distributors per country. Here at LV there is less than 100,000 distributors WORLDWIDE. This means there is an incredible amount of growth potential.

The third pillar is the compensation plan. Every MLM company has a unique comp plan, LV is no different. However, the amount paid out is different. Generally MLM companies pay 40% to the distributors in the form of commissions/bonus’, whereas LV pays 48%!

We all know the saying “MLM only pays the people at the top,” which is true if you join too late. However with LV, the company plan is very aggressive from “Pro 1” all the way to “Executive Master Pro 10,” and is actually the most generous in the middle ranks to keep you motivated. Commissions and bonus’ are great, but we also need to look at residual income to decide if a MLM company is really worth it. When you hit Elite Pro 7 (yes, I said when, not if) you’ll start earning 1% of the global sales each month. And as you rank higher you’ll receive up to 4% of global monthly sales. This residual income guarantees you’ll be getting paid while sleeping, working out, or lounging on a beach. 

Compensation plan - CHECK! 

Finally, we have mentorship. Typically with MLM you only have access to your personal “up-line.” Again, LV is different. We have 30 Elites in North America that have joined together, because we aren’t on separate teams, we’re on the LV team. So no matter who you sign with, it’s guaranteed you will be able to find a mentor you really connect with to help keep you inspired and motivated.
