Ground Floor: Exciting or Frustrating?
There are many touting ground floor opportunities out there. While all can be considered ground floor, depending on the definition used, I want to focus on week 1 companies. Have you ever been part of a company before it launched? Did you have to wait and watch as the products were unveiled? Did you have input into the comp plan development? To me, this can be both exciting and frustrating. What it really comes down to is this: Does your excitement outweigh the frustrations?
For me, I have just experienced this. At the time I am writing this, we have been open almost 2 weeks. I signed up pre-launch to get my spot before I even was able to try all the products. It was not blind faith though. I know the owners and the types of products they like to develop. They had a track record, and I trusted them. So, it was mostly excitement for me! There were some frustrations though. Some wanted to know more about the products or comp plan before it was ready. We had meeting after meeting trying to understand things. Then, at launch time, one of our products wasn't ready yet. The manufacturer messed up on the packaging. I have people waiting to try it that might become customers or join my team. At least our flag ship product was ready to go! It is a nano-amplified hemp oil that is changing lives just weeks into the company. Some on my team that signed up for the business are pain free or anxiety free. It is an amazing product, and I'm glad that my frustrations didn't cause me to ignore it. Plus, due to my positioning at the top that stemmed from loyalty to the owners, I'm considered a top leader. I have input into the workings of the company. They listen to me! I don't know any other company where I could make such a significant contribution.
If joining a brand new company is exciting for you, I encourage you to check out GEMINI. We are looking for those that want more. I'm looking for leaders that want to shape the future of the company as it grows. If that's not your thing, and you crave security, pass on it. Look us up in 5 years when we've proven ourselves. There are those that love this sort of thing, and I'm excited to share it when them!
