You only have you holding you back from achieving what you want.

How many of you complain about the way life is or how your business isn’t going the way you want it to yet many of you do nothing to change the way you are doing things.

The following is a story that unless you are from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada the following story will not mean much but to those who have grown up with the Edmonton Oilers Hockey team will know what this is about.

I knew about this person although I have never met him, I classify him as someone to look up to.

“Joey Moss, Edmonton Oiler’s dressing room attendant is being honoured for his years of service to the team.

Moss is the annual inductee to the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society and Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers wall of honour at the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Moss, born with Down syndrome, has been working with the Oilers since 1984. He helps the Oilers staff with cleaning the dressing room, team laundry, the handling of towels and water for games and practices.

He’s become a legend with the players, coaches and of course with the fans.

“Joey has always been a huge part of the Edmonton Oilers dressing room,” said head equipment manager Jeff Lang in a press release. “Every day Joey brings his smile and brightens the room with his presence and wit. We are very lucky to have him as part of our organization and we congratulate him on being recognized.”

In 2015, the 53-year-old was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame to honour his contributions to the Oilers as well as the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL.”

How many of you can say you bring to your business what this man has brought to this team? Isn’t it about time for you to take stock of what you could do to change and see how your business will change with you?

Personal growth is key to your business that is why every corporation is always sending their key people on courses of personal growth. It is also the key to retention in your business because if you are not growing how can your business grow.

I have been mentoring a small business owner who has limited funds to grow his business. I asked him how he talks to people about his business and one thing is he talks to them as though they too have no money. I explained to him that as long as he thinks they have no money then they will never have any. Rather he needs to expand his thinking that he has $500,000 yearly and treat and talk about his business as though that is what he is making yearly because until he does he will never earn any more than he is at the present time.

What do you want your business to earn and what do you think it is earning? Until you think it is earning what you want it to earn it never will. Do you think Oprah, who was born into poverty always saw herself living in poverty? Of course not or she would never have got to where she is today rather she saw herself as being successful and set about to achiever it and along with that came her wealth.

See your business as being successful and do whatever it takes to make it happen.
