Why I left the personal training industry after 30 plus years....

In October of 2023 I sat down with my financial advisor and discussed what retirement looked like for me as a personal trainer and gym owner for over 30 plus years. 

His answer was simple - "You will be training people until you are 90."

This was not what I wanted to hear. 

I was burned out, I was tired, my luster was no more.

Understand that my industry, like so many others, took a massive hit during the pandemic and even with people returning to 'normal life', the fitness industry was rocked.  The landscape forever changed. 

Why?

More people training online with apps and AI.  Many people relying on drugs like Ozempic for 'results'.  People struggling financially to afford training services and more simply proved that I needed to make some pivots and no longer rely on exchanging time for money.

I shared the compensation plan of a company that I was already shopping with - all daily essentials and 400 plus everyday use products and told my financial guy to give me his feedback.

The next day he rang me and said something that astounded me...

He said, "If you don't partner with this company, you are dumb.  And I will be your first customer!"

Here we are, 19 months later, he is still shopping (as are hundreds of others in my network) and personal training is something I do in my 'spare time' and I enjoy it again!

My full attention and energy have switched to my Melaleuca Business - teaching people they can do better for their wellness using USA made products that are exceptional and are priced affordably. 

Educating people about why their family's wellness matters is something about which I am very passionate. 

I have zero regrets making the moves I have and all it took was one person, someone I trusted, to tell me that what I had my hands on was safe and worthwhile.
